Social Media Research and Analysis Intern

The Caravan Studios Internship Program offers interns a combination of practical real world experience, formal and informal mentoring, and opportunities to develop networking and community-building skills. We offer a unique, well-rounded, and hands-on internship experience in a supportive and dynamic nonprofit environment, as well as an introduction to future employment and career opportunities.

Caravan Studios is a division of TechSoup, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in San Francisco, CA. We build apps that help communities organize, access, and apply local resources to their most pressing problems. Our design thinking methodology includes community input throughout, ensuring that the developed applications meet the needs of the community.

This internship focuses on the Apps4Good and Public Good App House projects and assisting the Caravan team in developing a network of motivated app creators and organizations, driven by a desire to improve access to resources for good. The goal of the project is to increase the reach of public good technology projects and use the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to describe the impact.

The Apps4Good events bring together community members representing NGOs, corporations, government agencies, and technology development groups to watch demos of up to seven public good technology projects.

The Public Good App House initiative aims to increase the reach of public good technology projects and share information to understand our collective impact.

In November, we will be hosting a three day event in Washington, D.C. called the Public Good App House Festival, focusing on Poverty reduction, food security, and clean water for women, youth, indigenous peoples, immigrants, and refugees.

Please note: this unpaid internship is part-time during the school year (2-3 days per week) and eligible to be full-time during the summer, lasting from three months (minimum) to six months (preferred). The internship is located in the San Francisco office with remote access possible for some activities as appropriate and effective.
